Hydrangeas For Spring

I decided to replace the lantern (dollar store picture frames) that I originally had sitting on the patio table with some pretty hydrangeas. These are perfect for spring.

Vintage Scale - Decor

I love the look of vintage scales and I love the look of moss covered balls, so I decided to combine the two for a pretty vintage look in the kitchen.

I wanted to make moss covered balls but rather than running out to buy styrofoam balls, I scoured the house for something round that I could use. I decided to use some old Christmas ornaments that had been semi-eaten by the dog. I rummaged through the craft supplies and pulled out my moss and my handy dandy hot glue gun and got to work.

Dont forget gloves & some water - that hot glue can really do some damage, ask me how I know.....

This is how the bowl looked when I first got it....It was a bit too white and new looking in contract to the vintage scale (which is from 1907).

Here is the bowl after I "aged" it...

Here is a little herb garden that has been added. It replaces the middle set of cannisters in the picture below.

Curb Appeal - Finally

For the longest time, the front of our house has been so boring. It was so boring that I had no vision on ways to improve upon it. We finally decided to have the outside painted and voila.... I was inspired! All of the little projects I have been working on over the last couple of weeks finally came together.

This is a picture of the house post painting..... And several of the projects that I have been fiddling with are now part of our curb appeal...

We laid a small patio area out of pavers to add a nice patio set.

(excuse the piece of wood under the base. I added that for stability but still need to paint it brown to blend in the base)

For a point of reference, here is a picture of the before..... (dont fall asleep)

And here it is now.....

I am much happier with it now. It still has room for improvement and I will be adding a little more here and a little more there, but it sure is a much nicer start!
